Rum Guiding

 

Rum is spectacularly positioned off the west coast of Scotland and is accessible by ferry from Mallaig. Clients can choose either a 3 or 5 day itinerary which both depart on a Monday morning at 10:15. Accommodation is at Kinloch Castle where the ferry terminates. Alternatively you may choose to camp. The walking is challenging and the traverse of the Rum Cuillin Ridge normally takes 10 to 12 hours and is a  superb hill walk.  All guiding is undertaken by Peter Khambatta.

Mon

Depart Mallaig at 10:15 arriving on Rum at 12:45. Afternoon walk to Beinn nan Stack (546 metres).

4 - 5 hours

Tue

Cuillin Traverse including Hallival (723 metres), Askival (812 metres), Trollaval (702 metres), Ainshval (781 metres) and Sgurr nan Gillean (764 metres).

10 - 12 hours

Wed

Kilmory beach and  Mullach Mor (304 metres). Ferry departs at 16:05

4 - 5 hours

Thu

Bloodstone Hill (388 metres), Guirdil bothy and coastal rock caves and arches.

8 - 10 hours

Fri

Remote high lochs and Barkeval (591 metres). Ferry departs at 16:35

4 - 5 hours
