Air: Glasgow International, Glasgow Prestwick, Edinburgh and Inverness are Scotland’s major airports.
Rail: Glasgow Queen Street to Fort William is a spectacular journey but does take almost 4 hours. From Edinburgh one must connect with Glasgow. There are 4 trains per day in each direction (including the sleeper service to and from London). Sunday services are reduced during the winter.
Bus: Glasgow Buchanan Street to Fort William with Citylink run up to 7 services per day with the journey taking 3 hours. From Edinburgh one must connect with Glasgow. Inverness also has a regular service to Fort William.
Travel to Fort William
When you book with us please be mindful that you are hiring the services of a mountain guide for your date. All payments received by Adventure Nevis are made on a non-returnable basis. The date(s) of the walk / course is not transferable to another date. We do suggest that clients take out an Insurance Policy in the event of not being able to attend due to illness, accident, travel restrictions / conditions or other circumstances. Bookings are not secured until payments have been received in accordance with the payment terms of the booking.
If buying vouchers please ensure that the recipient will be able to attend as all vouchers are non-returnable. All vouchers issued are valid subject to receipt of full payment. They can only be used by the payee or their nominated recipient.
On very rare occasions Guided Days may be re-scheduled e.g. due to extreme weather, or the route choice may be altered for safety reasons. In the unlikely event of a date being re-scheduled walkers can choose to transfer to another date or request a full refund of any monies paid. Adventure Nevis accepts no responsibility for any additional losses incurred as a result of this.
There are also a number of hotels, including a Travelodge and a Premier Inn, hostels / bunkhouses and campsites in and around Fort William.
